Arthur Joseph Meadows was the son of James Meadows, Sr., a prominent British Marine artist. His two brothers, William and James, were also highly regarded artists. Little is know about the artistic training of the three brothers, but one can be sure most of it was received from their father. Arthur employed a subtle, color palette and his paintings demonstrate a keen eye for detail coupled with topographical accuracy. He is exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and the British Institute as well as in many private and corporate collections.
