Gordon Arthur Meadows - who was he?
According to Dad:
Gordon Arthur was a son of AJM, an elder brother of my grandfather and therefore a great-uncle of mine. He painted mainly Thames river scenes in water colour. So far as I know he was the only one of his, or any succeeding, generation to display any artistic talent – the last of the Meadows artists.
I believe my Uncle Lance met him – I think stayed with him – in London in the early 1930’s. He also used the pseudonym “Arthur Gordon”.
His work quite often appears on the market.
